Warner Bros, HBO, DC entertainment rolls out diversity and inclusion policy
  • More companies are adopting a diversity and inclusion policy. This time the parent company of DC Entertainment, Warner Bros., and HBO, will employ a diversity and inclusion policy for people of color, LGBTQIA+, and other “marginalized” individuals.

According to ICV2, the site is reporting that WarnerMedia will utilize the new diversity and inclusion policy for upcoming projects when it comes to hiring, creating stories, and giving a voice to “under-represented” groups. In the press statement it reads…

”[W]e all must ensure there is greater inclusion of women, people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, those with disabilities and other underrepresented groups in greater numbers.” […]

“[W]e will …create a plan for implementing this commitment to diversity and inclusion on our projects, with the goal of providing opportunities for individuals from under-represented groups at all levels.”

This is a similar policy that Riot Games instituted recently, where they started up a diversity and inclusion division, and hired in a Chief Diversity Officer who will work alongside the Chief Executive Officer.

We don’t know how WarnerMedia will roll out this policy across the DC Comics branch, the DC Entertainment arena, or HBO and Warner Bros., but we can look at companies like Riot as a perfect example of employing a diversity and inclusion initiative only to exclude whites or actively endorse discrimination against certain groups.

Given how badly comic book sales have been these last several years, it would be a real step back for DC to give up what little head-room they have attained in order to move back several steps. Then again, when it comes to getting woke, a lot of them don’t seem to mind going broke. It took Disney a box office failure like Solo: A Star Wars Story to finally start to wake up and get the hint that their propaganda wasn’t going to work as easily as they thought.

I'm all for equal opportunity.
But a company that selects people for quotas of skin color rather than ability, and wears its "diversity policy" on its sleeve, is not a company that would be my first choice to work for. They are more interested in ideology and appearance rather than focusing on the best product and the best people. And it's been my observation that a policy of "tolerance" is almost inevitably the most intolerant policy of all. Between the lines, it says you have to be a left-wing liberal to even work here. And/or non-white.

Another reason not to buy DC comics, let alone work there. I read this book in its original form as 1984. And it's scary how this authoritarian thought control under the veil of inclusiveness is spreading like a cancer through every aspect of our culture.
