Superman in Avengers would just be like Superman in Justice League.

I would like to see Batman/Wolverine comics or some more Punisher/Batman comics.

It would be interesting to see 5 or 6 publishers simultaneously doing their own completely different versions of Superman or Batman at the same time.

And publishers who aren't DC would be more willing to take big chances and do innovative things with the characters.
Coming out right beside DC's official version. Or I could see a new version being so popular, driving DC's version so low in sales, that DC would be forced to cancel it and let others take over.
Or vice versa, other versions by new publishers might boost interest and sales in both DC's and other publishers' versions.

I've completely lost interest in current DC titles at this point, they have turned them into carefully controlled licensed properties, in such a safe bubble they are afraid to do anything new.
It would be great to see someone come in and completely side-step that corporate editorial board decision once a year that hammers out the next year's Superman continuity, that has existed for over 30 years now.
What a breah of fresh air it would be to have a talented writer/artist team come in and do new stories, and completely side-step that DC editorial machine.

Better yet, we'll get to see versions of Superman and Batman by writers who actually have a smidge of writing talent.

I think the article may be wrong about Captain America joining the Justice League of America, because the JLA won't be public domain for several more decades, unless they're referring to Cap becoming public. Additionally, Action Comics #1 was the debut of Superman, Lois, and the Daily Star employees. So if I were somebody, I would avoid everything and everyone else that didn't debut until later, such as Luthor, Brainiac, Toyman, Perry, Lana. Jimmy and Ultra-Humanite aren't that far behind though.

There is no version of this where you come out on top. Maybe your army comes, and maybe it’s too much for us, but it’s all on you. Because if we can’t protect the Earth, you can be damn well sure we’ll avenge it.

Hello?
Put Natasha on the phone.
Who is this?
This is her fucking son's father. Who is this?
This is her fucking son.
..........oh.......
Call back in 20 minutes. *click*

Boy, you could get lost in a sky like that. I wish I had those balloons again.

We've already been seeing inter-company DC/ Marvel crossovers in all but name since the early 1970's.

But it will be interesting to see how much more extravagantly they can do it, when they aren't just doing it secretly for their own amusement and hiding it from their bosses.

Quote
Writers Len Wein, Steve Englehart, and Gerry Conway were at a Halloween party in Vermont when they hatched a plan to quietly crossover the Marvel and DC universes, and even better, Englehart, Conway, Wein, and Wein's wife Glynis, would all show up in the comics as well.

It started in AMAZING ADVENTUREs #16 where Beast hitches a ride to Rutland, Vermont with the quartet. Things get rough when Juggernaut shows up and Glynis, who's dressed as Supergirl for Halloween, goes missing!
Then in THOR #207, the three men find Glynis, but just then their car gets stolen!
In JUSTICE LEAGUE #103 we find out that the car thief was none other than Felix Faust! Faust then uses his powers to take control of the participants at a Halloween parade, many of whom are dressed like Marvel heroes!

They left out one from Simonson's writer/artist run on THOR, where Thor meets (obviously, but not named) Clark Kent.

Some others not listed are the Shi'ar's Imperial Guard (from X-MEN 107 and 108, by Claremont/Cockrum, and the first Claremont/Byrne issue) that are in all but name DC's Legion of Superheroes.

And also in AVENGERS 141-150 by Englehart/Perez), introducing the Squadron Supreme, that are in all but name DC's Justice League.

Both being unofficial Marvel/DC crossover stories, and a heck of a lot of fun.

Plus several others from the 1970-1973 period I can' recall offhand.

Oh sweet! Maybe I can sell ABC on a Perfect Strangers reboot starring Batman and Superman! What wacky hijinks shall ensue!
