so what's it about if it doesn't have the Aliens?
The original creative team (Scott, O'Bannon, etc.) have long dropped hints that the aliens are genetically engineered weapons and that the ship with the egg chamber in the first one was a crashed deployment ship. Might have a lot to do with that race and, from the viral marketing, the androids from the franchise.
