I think that's what led to Miles, actually. Ultimate Peter died, and some other kid took his place. He's apearently popular.

But I don't want Ultimate anyone. I like Sam as he is. He's key to Steve's whole mythos. People always say they prefer Ultimate Falcon, but I'd rather we just keep regular old 616 Sam.
