Up until about 1970, he was uncredited in the stories he drew. And while he was doing work on mostly DC's war books without story credits through the 1960's, DC began showing story credits around 1969-1970, and Novick suddenly was visible in story credits as he began working on BATMAN, DETECTIVE and FLASH stories, and with a slight change he'd begun in his art style, he could have been mistaken for a new talent first coming into the field, despite that he'd been plugging away stories for decades.
