Kurt Schaffenberger is another one, who I first saw in the 1970's doing short humor pieces in PLOP, and on the various Superman titles like SUPERBOY, LOIS LANE and JIMMY OLSEN, and in the late 1970's, SUPERBOY and LEGION. It seemed to me that if Giffen had left in the 1982-1984 period, Schaffenberger would have replaced him as pencil artist. I thought he was a good inker over Giffen's pencils, particularly on LEGION 305.
But his career goes back to the early 1940's for Fawcett, inking the various Captain Marvel titles. Some of which are reprinted in LIMITED COLLECTORS' EDITION issues I have.
