I just happened to turn on the TV from 3:30 PM to 4, and watched the stock market plunge from an already low -650, and in just a matter of minutes it plummeted even further, and closed the day at -1175 !
That's on top of a Friday close at -665.
Holy shit.
The speculation is that talk about potential inflation from an overheating economy, and the potential for the Federal Reserve possibly raising interest rates 3 or 4 times this year is what triggered it. But who knows, the stock market often shifts on instinct rather than logic.
