Back on topic, Tucker Carlson and others have reported in agreement with what Pariah was saying above, that the riots in France and elsewhere in Europe are about oppressive global warming policy, that has resulted in a backlash from factions across the political spectrum, Left to Right.

I increasingly see environmentalist policy as a way for authoritarian goverment to control and monitor the population, rather than to actually protect the environment. It is another way to corrall people into population centers where they can be monitored. It takes them off rural farmlands where they can grow their own food, and makes them dependent on food the state can control (if you don't understand why that is dangerous read about Soviet use of starvation to eliminate millions dissidents in Ukraine in the late 1930's). And devices used to monitor "carbon credits" are used to monitor not only their energy use, but also the movement of people in their homes and cars.

And U.N. plans for what they term "Agenda 21" confirms that is precisely the purpose of environmental laws. That's what these people are protesting, the oppressive over-reach of the state. But there are those among them who further want to crush France's national identity, and ride on the coat-tails of the larger movement to push that agenda.
