Yes I think we all realize that mass shootings happen elsewhere too but the frequency of them that happens here sets us apart from other countries with similar socioeconomic backgrounds. Recognizing a problem like this and searching for solutions is actually loving the country. Hurling partisan insults not so much.
And by "loving the country", your side means disarm it.

The same way Democrats say "support the troops" to push for surrender and withdrawal in Iraq and Afghanistan. Which doesn't result in peace or saving lives, it results in ISIS.
The Democrats are so reflexively deceitful over the last two decades, they no longer even know how to be truthful and honest. Or even appear to be.
Your side "loves the country" by destroying and splintering it politically for their own short-term gain. Two of the Democrat 2020 candidates, immediately after lyingly blaming Trump for the El Paso shooting in the most incendiary way, immediately exploited the tragedy to mail out e-mails for fundraising. The Democrats just kneejerk reflexively rant about banning guns every time there's a shooting. Knowing that would not solve the problem, but still cynically exploit public emotions to advance their anti-gun agenda.
Democrats advance background checks for buying ammunition, to create a backdoor way to disarm gun owners. Democrats under the Obama government bought up billions of rounds of ammunition for DHS to similarly disarm gun owners, and clear the shelves of any available ammunition. Democrats push a ban on assault weapons to similarly make a beach-head toward banning all guns. And when banning assault weapons doesn't stop shootings (and how could it, assault weapons are 1% of all shootings) then the next time they'll push for banning of handguns and other guns. Until all guns are banned.
Whether it's Obamacare or guns or taxation or gay rights or whatever, the Democrats consistently advance their agenda by deceiving the public and deliberately hiding their true agenda. They "love the country" by destroying it.
