Reagan had a way of getting his point across with succinct humor, an approach that tends to work better than a lot of pedantic explanation, or getting angry and lashing out at it.
I think the younger generation has romanticized the hippie movement and admires it for the more surface easygoingness of it. While they support Democrats and the benign notion of socialism, I'm not sure they really understand the ideology behind it. Which gives hope that, if they are made to understand what it's truly about, a majority of them might pull away from it and embrace the principles of our Constitutional republic. Rather than passively endorsing what the Bolshevik Democrats would like to replace it with.
