Actually your side has really been winning imho. Unions are pretty much toast. Taxes are cut with no worry about the huge and growing deficit. Trump is now talking about cuts in Social Security and other programs. And I don’t know or want to know what the fat piece of corrupt shit smells like but I’m guessing he’s taken a lot more money from the government and his fraud charities than the people fighting for social programs. And a lot of those hippies that protested back in the 60’s and 70’s were actually risking getting drafted with their protests if they were male and staying out of the draft because of being in college. Maybe they smelled but they had more principles than “bone spurs” who spent the 70’s trying to keep black people out of his dad’s properties and than partying with pedophiles.

The point is, however benign or spaced out or well-intended, the hippies weren't making a lucid stand for anything, and were either wittingly, or for most of them outside of leadership probably un-wittingly, serving marxist/communist masters. Some of them (including the Black Panther movement, and William Ayers' Weather Underground, and several American communist newspapers) funded directly by the Soviet government.
These noble hippie protestors were mostly protesting to end the draft so they wouldn't end up serving in Vietnam. And as I said, when the draft ended, the protests abruptly ended with it.
But the hippie leadership also disparaged America, and falsely railed on U.S. soldiers as murderers and war criminals. Then-student John Kerry being a prime example. As well as William Ayers, and Bill and Hillary Clinton. Their draft evasion, anti-American rhetoric, and in Ayers and Dohrn's cases terrorism against police and soldiers, is well known. Hillary Clinton, as I sourced in 2008, hated police and the military so much she would not allow uniforms to be worn in the White House, and even called police and Secret Service "pigs". When Chelsea Clinton was overheard calling Secret Service pigs and told she'd be in trouble if her parents found out she said it, she told the agents that she learned it from her parents.
And it should be emphasized again that William Ayers was the mentor of Barack Obama, that Ayers held Barack Obama's first political fundraiser in his home.
Ayers, who had joint booksignings and speaking appearances with Obama for years. Who selected Barack Obama as the executor of funds for his marxist education program, sponsored by the Annenberg Foundation. Ayers, who Obama met with regularly, at least quarterly for funds disbursement meetings, and probably much more frequently than that. I could cite quotes from Ayers, Dohrn, Bill or Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Barack or Michelle Obama, Bernie Sanders, and many of their subordinates, many quotes from while they served in the Obama administration, that clearly state their hostility toward the United States, and their desire to "fundamentally transform America" into something other than a Constitutional republic. Their vision of America is closer to Red Dawn. Some activists in the Bernie Sanders campaign were recently caught (on camera, by Project Veritas) talking about "re-education centers" for capitalists. Just like the Weather Underground folks, including William Ayers, in their plans for the country, that the undercover FBI agent above spoke to.
That sounds a lot like Obama's "fundamental transformation", or the next militant step up from it.
How far from the tree could Obama and the Clintons have fallen, who idolized and were mentored by these people?
