There's a table comparing various outbreaks to the current one. The 2019-2020 outbreak listed is not Coronavirus, but the regular seasonal outbreak, which is expected to far surpass the Coronavirus "CoVid-19" outbreak. Currently about 2,900 Coronavirus deaths, vs. an expected 80,000 deaths from the regular flu virus.

It's also been pointed out by Dr. Marc Siegel that with the 2009 "Swine Flu" outbreak, there were about 20,000 infections in the U.S. and 1,000 deaths in the U.S. before then-president Barack Obama even began to take steps to contain the outbreak. Relative to that, the media coverage and panic certainly is eexhibiting a double-standard relative to how an even greater outbreak was covered under Obama, under a president who did a lot less to contain the threat, and a lot less to proactively prevent its outbreak from China into the U.S.
