Monthly 2020 unemployment rates before and during pandemic:
  • FEBRUARY: 3.5%

MARCH 4.4% (when shutdowns began, in mid-late March)

    APRIL 14.7%

    MAY 13.3%

    JUNE 11.1%

    JULY: 10.2%

    AUGUST 8.4%

That's a remarkable recovery in just 4 months since the shutdown, for which the Trump administration deserves great credit. And that's with the Democrat governors of half the states sabotaging the recovery with prolonged shutdowns (Speaker Nancy Pelosi's most recent hair salon incident perfectly gives case example to the absurdity of the shutdowns, meaningless except for their pure political motivation, and enforced only to crush their Republican/conservative/small business political opposition.)

If Hillary Clinton or Joseph Biden were president, the pointless shutdowns would be even more widespread, and tens of millions more would be unemployed or forced into bankruptcy of their businesses. Because of Trump, most of these people still have their jobs and businesses, and will return to their work much more quickly. As the science, not the political weaponization of shutdowns, warrants.
