I recently began collecting vinyls, as living in the city has provided a truly rare opportunity for collection. Recent purchases include latest albums from Austin favorites Spoon and Okkervil River(one must stay true to one's roots), new Feist and special re-released edition of Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation, the last of which being a personal favorite. I also recently borrowed/stole Tom Waits' Bone Machine. I eagerly anticipate getting Radiohead's In Rainbows when it comes out. That album is amazing.

I was unaware of any sort of resergence in collecting, but that's not surprising. It would be a very interesting turn of events if vinyl outlasts the CD era and becomes the primary hardcopy medium(with mp3 files ushering in a digitally trafficked age of music). I am bemused at the thought of picking up one of my old CD's in 20 years and feeling a tinge of nostalgia at it being such an obselete relic.

MisterJLA is RACKing awesome.
