We needed a new talk thread, and here it is. Let's just try to make this one last until the end of the story at least.

G.Morrison agrees - his plans, and a few other creators in the comic business, is to take of all the spandex suits on our super-heroes and change them to coveralls and armors.

Okay, I've added "The Meeting" to the story, but it occurs to me that this consulting company may take at least a few days to get off the ground (the foundation has to be set up, and advertising has to start, et cetera). Perhaps each of us could post some more story additions with us getting used to living in La Perdita, and then we can jump forward two weeks or something, when we can get our first assignment... whatever that may be... Meanwhile, "today" the phones are getting hooked up, and the computer equipment is being delivered and hooked up as well. Dr. Q will make his first appearance as the group's scientific consultant via a direct computer linkup to his home in Canada. [ 05-06-2002: Message edited by: TheTimeTrust ]

Oh... and also, I was wondering if someone would like to volunteer to write detailed story synopses of each of the stories so far. I'm working on a website for the Hero Revolution and I think it would be good if we had story breakdowns for members to keep track of things as well as any newcomers who wish to join in on the fun. Part of the website will be a pseudo-business site for "MBL Consulting, Inc." (I figured the whole thing with the confused Nowhereman constantly calling our group "the MBL" a while back should come back to haunt us somehow... ) On this website will be links to each of the story and talk posts on this board (which are saved on my computer in case they ever get deleted), and detailed synopses of each story would be really helpful. EUROSTAR: Could you upload those Hero Revolution pics you made a while back to the MBL club? I'd really like to see them again. Plus, if you or anyone else has any of the old "MBL Animated" pics saved on your computer, PLEASE UPLOAD THEM TO THE MBL CLUB! OTHERWISE THEY'RE GONE FOREVER! CAPICHE? Sigh...

TTT, the idea about the synopses is great, I would do it, but I think it would be better if an English mother tongue take the task. Anyway, if nobody else would do it, I will, and you could correct my errors. Months ago, I begun to do that for the MBL stories, I wrote the first seven or eight stories, I could send them to you if you are interested. About the pics, I will post soon the HR ones, then allow me some time to post the MBLcartoons one, they are more that one hundred, I think, and it's not really fast the uploading method of Yahoo.

Euro, if you're willing to write something out, I'd be more than happy to "translate" for you (while adding in a few quips and annotations of my own, of course ). Think about it.

That would be great, guys. And of course I'll do a final edit and formatting for the website, so the final version which appears on the Hero Revolution website will be very readable.

OK, I wrote another post detailing the apartment building a bit more. I hope everyone's happy with where their apartments are located. A lot of empty floors... It looks like the "loners" of the group (Sonja, Naecken, Danny and Kristogar) have entire floors all to themselves, even if they only use one of the apartments in them. (Pete's the only one living on the first floor so far, but the office of MBL Consulting will be in the former landlord's office, and the first floor is the busiest one, what with the Lobby being there and all, so he's not really alone.) BTW, I hope nobody's offended by my use of Dante's Inferno... it just seemed to fit, with the exact number of floors (including basement and roof) corresponding to the nine levels of Hell and seven levels of Purgatory in the book. Strangely enough it seemed to fit some of our characters in a perverse way... [ 05-07-2002: Message edited by: TheTimeTrust ]

Have a little more confidence Euro. If it weren't for phrases like "mother tongue" I would think you were an English native on most days.

Loved it, TTT! Fit really well! I also enjoyed the fact that it was Tobias taking us through the Inferno. Very ironic and incredibly fun. Keep it up, man!

Deal! Ehy Chewy, by the way, could you write that thing we talked about Vidalia and Walker? I am ready to continue Eurostar and Vidalia story, but I am fearing of writing a too soft Owens, so I would like to see her written by her creator.

Hey, you EPS guys: Feel free to continue the La Perdita story as well. Use Tobias or Lance or one of the other members who hasn't been used by their "owners" much yet. I've been writing other peoples' characters in this story more than I've been writing Pete, and it's worked out just fine so far. I'd like to see Chewy create a character for the hero team, too... hint-hint...

Read MY post more carefully, T5. This was HOURS AFTER the pie was thrown at him, AFTER he thought he had gotten all the pieces off of his face and out of his hair.

I have posted an EPS things, because that's where my character is. After the (now) old debate that I had with a few fellow posters, I prefer staying away from the main story, not to turn it again into Eurostar (the poster)'s story. I must admit that, in any case, I would not really be comfortable with the new setting. Altough it is a great setting for having adventure tipe stories (and in the future I will be happy to partecipate in some of them), I think it negates the premises of the new Universe we built. I am rereading carefully the earlier stories, to create the synopses for TTT: the main element was that our heroes were inexperienced people (even the most powerful of them) on the run from powers they didn't understand, developing a sense of rebellion to the condition of oppression them, and their kind, are kept. On that basis, we developed a complex spy-game that, for me, was the real fun here. Now all that survive of that fun resides in the EPS, and that's why I'm happy of being "prisoner" there. Altough I did like the circus idea most (but it was mine, after all ), I agreed on the small island of the Caribbean, as first stated by Gooz. It was a place where to hide, after the "revolution" failed even before of really starting. The heroes had to shelter themselves, phisically and metaphorically from the higher powers that want to capture them. But having them opening a venture, and making ads, to me seems very out of character. They are waving a flag, saying: "Ehy, USA, ehy, EPS, ehy, KLT, ehy, every one that want us dead, come here!" I repeat, the idea, per se, it's great. Considering what has gone before, I think it's not "in character" with the context. After all, we destroyed the future, not the past. Euro, I think you may have misunderstood the operation of the new "corporation". It is not so much "heroes for hire" as it is a group of specially trained operatives working freelance. From what I understood, the "metahuman" aspect of the team wouldn't be marketed, but, rather, that the team was a group who had abilities (not necessarily metahuman ones) that they are essentially selling to the highest bidder. No one knows of their background and the only person who knows them as the MBL is Nowhereman, who is conveniently not around. I think that this is the perfect place for the team to go at this point and will provide us with MANY more story ideas in the future...

I actually think this builds upon the New Universe we set out to make. We set out to tell different stories in a new setting, and that is what we are doing. Out of all the different groups we have written about, never have we had a team like this (It is sorta like a mix between the MBL, TOMB). Euro, as for the team giving ads and such for their service, the team has many new faces that KLT and the US government would not even know (Sam, Pete, KV, Sonja) and who says that the teams faces would be anywhere near the ads. A rep from the team would be sent to meet the "rich" person or business with a job at hand and come back and fill in the team. If the team doesn't like a job, well, we don't have to take it Not everyone on the team would like a certain job anyhow and decide not to go (some jobs might be boring or too dangerous, etc...). I even think that this is a good way to further the "revolution" because slowly the team will master their powers and make allies.

Good old Indiana Jones style fun. If I wasn't wrapped up in the EPS I'd find that too tempting to pass up. However, I don't like writing more than one character as I feel both are then diluted.

The US Government knows me. I would just never let them get anywhere near me. The next post I plan on making will tie up some loose ends(Vern Keith, the knee injury) that have been bugging me a little. That's why I haven't contributed to the current storyline yet.

That's right. There's no "going public" about this at all, and as I've said before, they're not going to be "heroes for hire"... they're actually more like "mercenaries for hire," except without the military/war aspect.

And the situation the Revolutionaries were in could not last any longer than it did. I don't agree with the idea that the situation a group finds themselves in needs to remain the same. Those kinds of static situations become tiresome and unworkable over time. This new venture may not work out, but it's what the team is doing in the present. Things may and should change over time. But I don't think our heroes should constantly be on the run, having things always happen to THEM instead of them tackling problems HEAD ON.

Don't worry too much about it. It's only been in this story that I've posted a lot in one thread. That's the reason I'm kinda excited about it and wish to see others adding on to the story.
