Purple haze, all in my brain
Lately things don't seem the same.
Got me like runnin' but I don't know why
Scuse me while I kiss this guy...

Elton John - Bennie and the Jets
She's got electric boobs, a mohair suit - y'know, I read it in a magazine.

This line drives me crazy. I cannot for the life of me figure out what the true lyric is supposed to be.
Bee Gees, Night Fever "I got hair in my mind, I get hired in Milwaukee"

I was 12 in 1969 when song HONKY TONK WOMEN by the Rolling Stones was a Big hit.
The First line I TOTALLY mis - heard...
" I Met a Jtzzzl Bar Zoom Queen "
Years later I found out the line was Really -
" I met a , Gin Soaked Bar room Queen... "
Well, after all, I was only 12 at the Time... :)

Until about two months ago I was convinced that the first two lines of Hot Stuff by Donna Summer were: Sittin' here eatin' my Haagan-Daas, baby Waitin' for my soaps to come on... It's fun being corrected by your girlfriend in front of her whole family. Really... ![[no no no]](graemlins/nono.gif)

Beatles-Come Together
Misunderstood line: Holds you in his arms yeah you can feel his disease.
Real line: Hold you in his arm chair you can feel his disease.

I always got confused by the Rolling Stones song Beast of Burden.
When Mick says "I'll never be your Beast of Burden"....I always though he was saying "I'll never eat your Pizza Burger." ![[eh?]](images/icons/confused.gif)

In "Cracklin' Rosie," I always thought Neil Diamond was singing, "Cracklin' Rosie, you're a stubborn woman ..."
But the lyric is really "store-bought woman," which is oddly poetic and mysterious.

I think the lyric you're referring to is:
I got fire in my mind. I got higher in my walkin'.
I recently wrote a parody of "Night Fever" and that line is the closest I can find to your misunderstood lyric.

Cracklin Rose is fortified Red Wine, hence the "store bought" woman line.
It makes ya sing like a guitar hummin'

"Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond......I'm all confused with that one. I love the song....I just have no idea what he's saying. ![[whaaaa!]](eek01.gif)
