DVD Is where old TV Shows go to be treated right.

these days, Every show in syndication from the 50s to the 80s is chopped by at least 4 minutes. On DVD, Everything is restored and it's all made to look purty.

anyway, back to the topic... good stuff I've already got on DVD... The Trek Box sets, Monkees Season 1, Dawson's Creek Season 1, Family Guy Vol. 1, and the M*A*S*H collections.

Before the end of the year I'll have to buy Dick Van Dyke Season 1, M*A*S*H seasons 4 and 5, Family Guy Vol. 2, and The two King of the Hill collections.

What ought be on DVD?

Sliders, Quantum Leap, More Dawson's Creek, The (animated) Tick, and Ren and Stimpy.

I'm with you. I've already got the Family Guy, Futurama, Series I & II of Red Dwarf, and a bunch of Doctor Who's on DVD's. Some of these shows, I'll only be able to see on DVD. And it's cool to see them in their entireity.

Quantum Leap and The Tick would be kick ass.

I need more Super Friends, the first one was addictive.

Smallville would be great. DVD is probably the only way I'll get to see all of the Bird's of Prey that I missed. Flash's one season.

Do I sound like too much of a comic geek?

When I get the money, I'm gonna start collecting MST3K.

Have:
Red Dwarf I and II
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Gundam Wing
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Yu Yu Hakusho (getting harder and harder to find current anime on VHS. Actually, getting harder to find anything on VHS. I have a DVD player, but I like to keep my series in the same format, so sooner or later I'll have to replace the tapes.)

Planning to buy:
Simpsons
Law and Order: any
Sanford and Son
The Jeffersons

They should put out:
Lois and Clark (the early episodes, not the last season where they totally screwed it up)
Smallville
And can we have Batman and Superman season by season instead of four episodes at a time?

In a move that will delight viewers of Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" programming block, a number of original programs produced for the block are being prepped for DVD release.

In an exclusive interview with IGN FilmForce's Ken Plume, set to run in early July, Cartoon Network executive Mike Lazzo clued us in on some details for the upcoming releases.

First up is Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, one of the first original productions for Cartoon Network. The first set for the series, which has recently returned to the Adult Swim line up, will include the first season-and-a-half of the series as well as tons of extras, including special promotional materials produced with the characters and extra on-air bits, such as a New Year's countdown and a special for the premiere of the Jim Carrey film, The Mask.

The next set due out is the more recent series, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, the first of the new Adult Swim programs to reach a full season of 24 episodes. Soon after, Sealab 2021 will reach the 24-episode mark, making it eligible for DVD release. Other Adult Swim series, such as the recent addition, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, and the returning Space Ghost spin-off, The Brak Show, are expected to follow as soon as they reach the 24-episode mark.

Lazzo also clued us in on some changes for the Adult Swim block, including some new series and hopes for new episodes of old favorites. Keep an eye out for our exclusive interview during the first week of July!

What point would that be for you? When they brought Vedder in (she irked me as did Vachon)...

And I JUST saw the last episode not to long ago...very disappointing. Gah! [AAAHHHH!!!] But I'd still want it on DVD.

Since I've been so broke the past couple years, and only just got a DVD player in December, gift from my oldest brother, I only have 2 DVDs right now. the Spiderman movie (bday present from same brother) and DC Talk's Free At Last movie. What I'm going to get next is.....

HEY BIANCA LISTEN UP HERE!

Alias

Yes you hear right, season one will be released in a set in September I think. I'll have to hop over to the Alias community on livejournal to be sure, but the entire first season will be relased as a whole before season 3 starts.

What I'd love to see on DVD are Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Scarecrow and Mrs. King. Those are the only 2 that I know of right now, that are not out on DVD and wont be until further notice.

Everything else I'd like to have can wait. I kept saying I'll get a DVD player when Alias comes out on DVD, but got one last year so now I'm just waiting for Alias. [wink]

Batman: TAS is now available on DVD at Coluumbia House..6 episodes per DVD.. They aren't in Season order I don't believe, but it's easier to watch as a DVD than as a tape. I have the whole series on VHS through Columbia house..so I won't be repurchasing it any time soon for DVD.

I own..Farscape, partial Twilight Zone, Robotech, and a few others....

I really didn't know Dick Van Dyke show was available as a complete season 1...I'll hav eto look for that..

I want The Dick Van Dyke Show
Are You Being served?
Sanford and Son
CSI
Law and Order
I'll get them at some point probably.

I want to see available..
Sliders
What's Happening ?
Superman: Animated
Thundercats

Pig Iron, my buddy... Dick Van Dyke season 1 isn't available until September.

However, after that, plans are unclear, but it's pretty much a lead pipe cinch that the subsequent seasons will be released.
