Okay, this show came on in the early 80s... maybe late 70s too. I know it was definitely in the 80-83 range. It was on in the late morning, and was a live-action show that was basically a series of serials. Like, one episode involved these two boys who were dared into going inside a haunted house by a strange boy. They got lost in the house, in one room in particular, and when they got out, they realized the boy who dared them was a ghost.
Another couple of episodes were centered around this boy who has a new neighbor. The girl and the boy hear rumors about a rich man who died in the house and left a lot of money in some secret room. So, they go exploring. They find the secret room next to the basement, along with this bed where the dead man is. under the sheets with the dead guy is burnt money. Meanwhile, the kids' families are looking for them. Someone hears banging coming from the ground outside, and a hole is dug up to rescue the kids.
I often got this confused with CBS storybreak, but that show started in 85. This show... well, I don't know what it was.
