That's the great thing about DVDs, so cheap to produce! Even shows nobody watched are being put out on DVD to please all 5 fans! I don't even bother paying for Cable, if the show's any good it'll be out on DVD the next year (case in point: Curb Your Enthusiasm)

I understand but there are tons of shows that aint even on that need to be placed on DVD instead of something someone can catch on reruns next week...

the few episodes I saw were hilarious. Its only 28 dollars. Definitley worth picking up.

I just preordered my box set from Amazon.com!
Franta, I hate sitcoms. I mean, I DESPISE them. I hate Raymond, so the title of his show is clearly erroneous. But Arrested Development is really something special because it's so different. It doesn't have a laugh-track, it's shot in a pseudo-documentary style with narration by Ron Howard, the writing is tight and the ensemble cast is amazing. Plus, despite a very low-rated first season, it surprised everyone by winning several Emmys, including Best Writing and Best Directing for a Comedy Series.
Fox has already stopped rerunning the first season, and it seems like there will be a delay before the second season starts. In this way, the DVD release is actually well-timed to get people hooked on the show before the new season, particularly people who heard about the Emmy wins and want to find out what's so good about it. I don't watch much TV at all, come to think of it, but I can't recommend Arrested Development highly enough.

I still dont know why out of all the shows that arent on DVD this one (whether its good or bad) which was just broadcast is out and not other old time shows...

It's not to see if a show is getting decent ratings. It has the potential to draw new viewers.
Family Guy is the best example of this.

They ran the entire season this past Saturday on FX. I had never watched it before until then. It's a really good show. Thier car is hilarious, when that dude uses the stairs to get over the prison walls I almost bust a nut out of my sack laughing.
