Thanks.

Letting more people to post before posting again is a nice thing, but if no other shows up in a day or two, and you have time and will to write, go on.

It's well written and intriguing, but so far there's not much to work with if it's going to be a group story. As I said before, I don't want to do a big origin story/prologue for my character -- I just want to throw him into the action with other peoples' characters right away. At this point I have absolutely no idea how to do that.

I think I'll wait a bit.

Since the two, first posts were characters introduction, I followed the trend, but you will notice that in the end something is beginning to appear, a thing I will unfold in my next post. What is that, I still don't know.

With Vanguard you waited for four stories.

Yeah. I think I'll hold off on posting until we find out what the mysterious thingy is. Then I'll throw Dancer in and we can start rollin'

I've never participated in a group story before so there's going to be a learning curve. I've refrained from going back and reading early Vanguard posts because I want to work on instinct.

It's rather like playing poker, where there's no centre and everything is relative to something else. You know your own hand and then you react and adapt to what other people do with theirs - sometimes taking the initiative, sometimes hanging back.

Nice simile! Seriously, though, it really is a matter of instinct. Course, it's easier to jump in the way you've done, introducing your own character and easing into the flow of the narrative, like I did with the JLR. It's only quite recently that I've got up to speed on the whole backstory.

I understand what TTT hoped, to have a story that begins as a story, and not like a collection of character introductions, but I think it is unavoidable, unless one is enough bold to dictate what the story will be about.

I think Southpaw with his post has perfectly created the mood for this story. It has a very nice mystery feeling, I wanna play with that for long.

Yeah, I thought Sammitch's post was pretty cool too. By the way, are we going to continue to use this as our talk thread, or should we open up a new one?

I think this one is perfectly fine. I still feel that more people should know that there is a new story around.

It fit, I guess. Nice work, and nice name.

I see that Sothtpaw has begun to tie his part with SpandexMonkeyMan.

And since the action seems to build up in London, with my next post(s) I will try to find a way to have my character crossing half a continent.

It seemed sensible because Adrian Slawny and Dancer are both English and I think that it's time to begin moving the characters towards each other and weaving the threads of the story together.

Yeah, that makes sense. Vireximus, it's nice to see you on board, and your character idea's nice.

Dancer vs. Marquette will be interesting. Especially taking into account the fact that Dancer really is as bad as he's made out.

I've posted to the story. And I hear that Stupid Dogg might be checkign in, so be on the look-out. This guy is one helluva writer.

'Course, there's no guarantee that he'll be around, but hey, we can hope.

Nice post Eurostar. I think we're gonna see the glimmerings of a beginning of an actual plot here, with the characters slowly congregating together. I'm not sure about how to get Mudd involved though, as he seems to be an american.

Okay then. Posted again to the story. I know I posted just a little while ago, but my inspiration's running rampant. Do say if I start to monopolise the story though

Also, I just wanted to say, are we all okay with the idea of a bios thread? Cos if we are, I'll get it up and running.

I'm happy if other people want to do this, but I want to keep everything to do with my character within the body of the story.

I've been making notes on the other characters - history, personality, speech patterns and what have you, because there'll come a point where I have to put words in their mouths, but these are just for personal reference.

It sounds like a good idea. That way we don't have to try and fit everything about our characters, like powers, into the story before other people try and write them. People can know the important stuff straight on and not have to guess.

Well, I've kicked it off. It's still very basic as my skills don't really match Britannica's, who kicked off thw JLR bios thread that this is modelled on. Go ahead and post to it whenever you want

Cool. By the way, this is me, Spandexc, posting under my alternative screen-name. I'm not gonna really be posting to TG under this one much, but in case I do I just wanted to introduce myself.

Hi, I decided to post something in your story. Hope it's fine enough for all of you. Please don't use my character until my next post in the story, which will be after the next person posts, I hope.

Great post, Walker. It's nice to have so many newbies around. and Eurostar, yours was a good post as well.

By the way, I've posted Dancer's bio. What with everybody sporting some major muscle, I've added a hint of voodoo in there to keep Dancer up to speed with everybody else.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm hoping my latest post will shed some light on Marlo's "walking" abilities, though maybe I ought to post some specific information about them in that other thread, too.

Mudd isn't really there because he has muscle as much as he's just friggin' odd. But I like all these characters a lot so far.

I was thinking of having Marlo run into Mudd in my last post, to begin to bring all the characters together somehow, but then I realized I have no idea whether Mudd is in England with the other characters or not, and that I wouldn't know what abilities Mudd would have anyways. So I went with what was already just happening in the story. There seems to be a convergence going on.

I'm still curious as to why there were U.S. marines in the mountains of Italy or France, or wherever Cicciotto was. It doesn't seem like such a mission would be publically authorized by any government, yet the news reveals outright that U.S. Marines were killed on Italian or French soil. I guess I don't understand why the soldiers were American in the first place.

Because Euro hates us.

Mudd will get there somehow. I'm busy with my solo story and Vanguard #18, but I'll get to it.

Oh, if it is for that, we have a lot of US soldiers running around thse parts. There are many American bases in Italy.

As to why they were in mission, it is related to the second moon appearence out of the mountain. I don't know really what is it, because the true reason for it is to have Cicciotto constantly turning into a werewolf, and it was inspired by an episode I experienced a few years ago, when a misterious explosion happened in the mountains where I live, I was part of the rescue mountain service by then, and at some point we ran into military troops (Italian) that stopped us and I swear there was an American with them.

In any case, although Phil wouldn't believe it, I really love America, I wouldn't be on an American board if it would be different.

But American bashing in Europe is the sport of the moment, so I guess it's natural having characters reflecting it in the stories.
