I've been toying with the idea of building a new computer, but I'd like one to handle excessive video and audio editing that would keep adding up the expenditure. And I ain'ts really that well off economically. Plus, I tend to get carried away with adding memory and processing power.

I tend to do the same. I always want the biggest and most powerful parts for my computer.
This time I kept it to just the motherboard and RAM. If I'd gone with everything I'd lusted after, the cost would have easily doubled.

I have two harddrives in my computer, a small (36 gigs) and a large one (200 gigs)

"I'll tell you why, the smaller one is called a Raptor. It has 10000 Rpms, that's right, TEN big ones. 10 kilos. Ten Grand etc.
When I start up my computer it takes about 10 seconds for it to enter windows and be ready for use!
I leave the systems harddrive free of any non-critical stuff (games, movies and stuff, except World of Warcraft)
and put all that heavy shit on the bigger, slower harddrive.

Motherboard and memory chips arrived. No other system parts in package. Will have to remember to take it out on the next delivery guy.

Last night. 4 a.m.-ish. Got home after getting no-go's for numbers...twice! This should not happen. Decided to work on the computer some more. Discovered my 6600 graphics card is not compatible with my motherboard. It requires a PCI Express X16 card.
Went out. Slaughtered neighboring families. Feels better.

9:41 a.m. Now. Going out to local hot spot to look for a new graphics card. Got the incompatible one from Newegg. Hopefully, they'll take it back without a hitch. I have high hopes. They give good customer service (and you KNOW what I'm talking about!).

we used newegg.com for the new comp. spent 547 bucks to boot!
oh and they have great service when it comes to replacements your right so you shouldnt have a problem.

And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack.
