According to sources, Vince Russo's major idea to book in WWE was to have an invasion of Raw by Eric Bischoff, Goldberg, Bret Hart, Mick Foley, and possibly Scott Steiner. Shawn Michaels would also have been involved had he not joined nWo.

Russo could then have taken over Raw, and renamed it WCW Nitro to completely split the brands. Russo would book Raw, and the older writers would book Smackdown.

He did not reveal this plan until after he was hired, for fear that the idea would be stolen from him and pawned off as someone else's idea without him getting hired or any credit.

When Russo proposed this and his other booking ideas, Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and others pushed for Russo to be demoted.

Of course this all sounds cool, but there's no way in hell it would've all happened. Goldberg despises both Russo and the WWF/E. The door's been open for Bret to rejoin for almost two years, but he's shown that he has no desire to forgive and forget. I also don't see why Mick would come back, as he's probably pretty content where things stand in his life right now, spending time with his family and all that. Even though he didn't get along with Russo, Bischoff would probably be game for it, and Steiner wants in, but overall this plan sounds like a total pipe dream.

If there's any truth to this story at all, then any chance of getting Goldberg is probably gone, since he wouldn't want to be anywhere near this political climate.

Alot of the inside rumor stuff is made by people trying to take somebody else down so you have to take it with a grain of salt
