I hate Robin. I hate teensidekicks. Why can't Miller and Lee do Batman without Robin?  I won't be touching this with Joe Mama's fingers. Morrison and Quitely's Superman has my interest. Though I'd like to see Millar and Hitch's take.

the batman image is pretty bad ass. me rikey. the robin pic is cool, too, but only cuz of the detail and such that went into it -- i would have preferred an older BTAS-like robin.
one thing i'm sorta bummed about though is the lack of seperation from the current titles. this looks and seems to be playing itself out like a "legends of the dark knight" tale.
i was sorta hoping for a whole new direction, with a whole new look. i love the transition to a black cape (finally!), but how about a newer, more stylized costume? a pouch belt with extra image-ish pouches on the legs? or a more techie type suit? an all black, ninja-esque getup?
mebbe slap some friggin long sleeves and pants on the boy wonder? or darken up his look to an all red/black style (i.e; later BTAS)

I think part of the reason for that is the simple reality that, of all the core DC characters, Batman is the one who has had the least mucking around with continuity.

considering Robin takes the risk of being shot, stabbed, and blowed up while in costume, wouldn't be intelligent for him to have a darker based costume to avoid detection? I mean, Batman's costume is dark so he can work in the shadows but his sidekicks getup is all bright and colorful.

I'm a little curious about AS-Supes, if only bc. this would be a good starting point to jump onto and not one of the on-going Superman titles that are all intertwined and entrenched with history. good point stupid doog. i'll give the "all star" books a few months. if they're good i'll stick with'm. i'd like to see bats and supes done the way marvel did the "ultimate" stuff. a more modern take would have been cool.

I'm so much more impressed with the effort that went into Gotham in those pics than I am with either of the character drawings.
Thing is- I can’t spell or type. I spell so badly my spell check doesn’t even know what I was trying to spell. And I have five Eisners HAHAHAHHA!!

If I remember right,when these All-Star books were first announced,Batman & Robins' uniforms weren't the "classic" ones.I think Lee did a promo piece for it but then DC decided to change 'em.

though its possible the sketch was based off an existing image, i believe he did all the work himself.
hell, if you look at the two black and white sketches, you'll notice that he redrew the image twice (and not simply layered on a new character).
