I think the backlash stems from the whole root of his return, this story even, coming from DISASSEMBLED, arguably the worst storyline since the Spidey Clone "Saga". And I have more respect for the clone stories, as they were done from a purely creative standpoint... not to make room for a new book gathering Marvel's cashcows and Bendis' pet B-listers. Blech.

Silly who? How is House of M such a bad thing when I just finished Batman & Robin the boy wonder.... If that first issue isn't a turd I don't know what is. What a joke. I love the way DC fans try to take the intellectual high ground but the very company you hold dear has to create an "All Star" line due to the "Ultimate" line over at Marvel. In the amazing words of mister Gump, "stupid is as stupid does".
"You've just been drafted. Into a war". Wow, is Frank Miller GOD or what? Not to mention how Jim Lee ISN"T the right guy to draw the "dark knight". I enjoy GOOD comics. To this point DC is still a step behind Marvel and the "All Star" line is an example to prove it. Forget the movies DC fans, Marvel kicks your tail there to. The FF movie is the best movie of the summer. Even Star Wars can take a back seat to this flick.

You do realize that Marvel has been stealing from DC for the last couple years, don't you? The Ultimate line is one of the few things they thought up on their own.

Why is it such a company as DC with all the intellectual fans, or so they make them selves out as such, can't get the simple fact that Lee is better served on JLA rather than Batman or Superman (what a turd that was)? House of M sits on issue #3. It has a run of 8. I'll wait until I read the last issue to make my opinon known.
As for the DC Crisis stuff,, so far there is only one character in the DC universe that can see the big guy with an "S" on his chest for what he is. But I'll wait until I read the books. I think I'm right. I told Pigiron who I think the key character is. I love what DC is doing now. I also thank the Ultimate Universe at Marvel for getting DC to step up and produce some damn great comics. Not to mention a real Batman movie for a change.
