How do you think that'll go? Me, I'm not sure... I mean, he's a great comedian, and the man can sing, so he might do a musical a la Billy Crystal, but his stuff as of late has not been that funny at all...

but his stuff as of late has not been that funny at all...so you're saying he's a good replacement for crystal? ...ahem... personally, i think it needs to be given to someone funnier and a little meaner. shows are always run better when guided by someone with an edge, who can compliment, and insult, the winners at the same time. jerry seinfeld, chris rock, howard stern, robin williams.... someone like that. steve martin is a good guy, but... funny, in today's world anyway, he is not.

Thats pretty much my point....nothing I have ever heard him do has been anywhere near as funny as alot of our stuff.
And nude women on radio or edited TV...I dunno to me that aint entertainment...if I want nude women I'll get some porn and not be subjected to his arrogance

huh. i LIKE stern's stuff. i find he's a life saver in the mornings. i HATE the mornings, but, listening to him always keeps me awake (AND happy). he's one of the few people out there i find reliably, and consistantly, funny AND entertaining. dunno why y'hate him so, franta. but, i do think yer missin out.

I just can't picture Stern doing the oscars... No further than five minutes into the show, he'd probably be mooning the audience...

true... but, would that be so bad?? i mean, basically, with the oscars, everyone watches the first 20 minutes, then changes the channel until the bigger awards are dolled out (or just falls asleep). unless you're IN the competition, who cares about most of the awards? at least with someone like stern doing the commentary, you'd be interested in what was going on, cuz you'd have no idea what to expect

Not everyone bothers to watch the Oscars! I've grown weary of awards shows that award nothing but airtime to advertisers! I'll just read about the winners (if I choose to undertake an underwhelming task as that) online or in the newspapers. It's easier, and no annoying commentary by anyone!
