After nearly three dogless months, the wife and kids prevailed upon me to get a puppy.

Yes, the name is still under negotiation and our previous cocker didn't shed much so I assume this one won't.

I can understand the dead dog being a deep thought, but buying a puppy is random chat.

and thats a cute puppy too. I like cocker spaniels....we are talking about getting a dog but both my wife and I are kind of OCD freaks with dog hair....so we have to try and find one that doesn't shed much if at all.

The thing with Cockers is (a) hard to housebreak and (b) a lot of them aren't good with kids. So if you want a cocker you need to look really carefully for the right breeder. For example, Mrs G and I bought ours from a breeder in Pennsylvania specifically because he breeds them for temperment as much as looks. Has his grandkids come over everyday and play with the pups so they are accustomed to kids.

Unless you get a chihuahua or maybe a pug, I can't recommend anyone who freaks over dog hair getting one. THey all shed to one extent or another.

Congrats G-Man!

I dread the day, however, when you learn that your puppy is voting democrat....

i've already started the brainwashing process.

And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack.

As noted in the past, it is my theory that all pets are democrat. The basically sit on their fat asses all day, waiting for someone else to take care of their shit.

Actually, a few dogs have more human-like hair and don't shed. I've never seen any of my roommate's Shi Tzu's hair on the sofa. Poodles and Airdales (which is what I want to get) have the same type of hair-like fur.

Nice, G-man. Oh, and, PJP.... not trying to nitpick, but it's spelled "Shih-tzu." It only sounds obscene.
