The opening cinema kicks MAJOR ASS! But then, the MK franchise (the past couple installments anyway) have done pretty well in that respect.

I'm a big fan of the MK series...but Deception was pretty much a copy of Deadly Alliance. Is there anything different or special in this game that would make somebody wanna buy it like right now?

pretty sporadic. i got the game and used my buddies networkcard/router setup. we only got online last night. probly be back on this wednesday and throughout the weekend.

well first of all theyve pretty much tweaked out the fighting engine to perfection. much of an improvement that Deception was over Alliance. Armageddon features pretty much every mortal kombat characater to date. its been simplified to 1 hand2hand style and 1 weapon style per character but has added some overall defensive moves and arial combos.
also the Konquest mode is actually pretty fun as a stand alone game. i think they take a lot of cues from God of War to raise the funfactor. in my opnnion its more than worth its $40 pricetag.

oh shit! ya that kreate a fighter is extremly dope. about as perfect as you can get a custom character system nowadays. i made a chick. she looks awesome but i suck with her at the moment. got my ass handed to myself with her.

Have you tried the Kreate a Karacter(or however its spelled) option yet? Is it any good?

Picked it up today, its fucking brilliant!
Love the Mortal Kart mini game as well.
I remember the days when they woulda sold it as a standalone game itself.
Fucking pissed myself laughing when I crashed into a wall for the first time!

While I am saddened that individual finishers are gone, I understand why & like the fact they have been made simpler to execute!
The Konquest mode is fantastic, with more of an adventure game feel rather than the "push this sequence of buttons" progression of the Deadly Alliance!
Its actually three games for the price of one!

Li Mei's been my bread and butter since Deception (Hotaru too). They kept the best stances for her in MK:A. Even though she doesn't do too much in the way of damage......I own with her.
Sareena can be a beast. That projectile is too fast.

After playing the Konquest mode, I now find Taven one of the best characters to use.
His sword fighting is pretty lethal!

With the combination of moves that are available to you, they are really gonna be stretching the movements you have to do to pull them off!
I reckon most people will use the traditional controllers as I reckon the Wii controller will actually make moves even more random than the standard button controls!
