does anyone know any good free DVD software packages for the computer? I just bought a DVD/CD-RW drive for my laptop and I want a DVD viewer. Thanks.

You can find any DVD tool you can imagine here: http://www.videohelp.com/tools

To make DVDs and such, I use TMPGEnc, TMPGEnc DVD Author and DVD2SVCD.

Yeah. I'm a real card.

BTW I use it for encoding and making DVDs to watch.

It's much easier and faster with Nero, but the DVD authoring possibilities are pretty limited and the video quality isn't very good.

Thanks Mxy. I downloaded Media Player Classic to watch the DVD's on my laptop cuz I only have 10 gigs on it for now and I didn't want a bloated program with tons of shit I don't need. I already have Nero installed on there for burning data and CD's, I just needed a viewer. When I burn DVDs I use my main computer with DVD Shrink and Nero.

DVD shrink is nice, you don't need Nero with the new version.

And, to be fair, one of my favorite friends there is blind and I take every opportunity available to make fun of that and we're still friends. That guy never fit there. He never got the spirit of the RKMBs. We're gonna keep an eye on the obits, see if he finally left or if he really did have a heart attack.
