I agree with Brian.
I'm wondering if this guy used Poser or something else to create these with. I myself downloaded blender which is a 3d program like poser, but free. I played around with it a couple itmes but couldn't seem to figure it out very well. Course that was right after I got it and I now have broadband. So when I get some time in the near future I'm going to fire it up again and have the manual up simultainiously (which is housed online) and see if I can figure it out. I think you can do people in blender as well, but I'm not sure.
So far I managed to do a pretty cool ship that looked like like an A-wing or something, only not as wide. but like an idiot, I didn't save it. *sigh*
It's a rented tux ok? I'm not going comando in another man's fatigues.

Alot of the superhero stuff up there is Poser shit. I've very little respect for people posing mannequins and passing it off as their own art. Many of the non-superhero shit here however is legit and is extremely gorgeous work. I've seen some original superhero 3-D work thats absolutely awe inspiring.

No, Fuse, I meant of your own art. You're an artist, right?

So what do others use to make 3d artwork?
btw, for anyone interested, you can create figures/people with blender, I just don't have a clue how. I downloaded a rather large video tutorial on getting started the other night but haven't gotten around to watching it. I also tried to mess around in it that night but couldn't seem to do what I did last time.

Youll pretty much see serious CG artists work in 3D Studio Max, MAYA, n' softimage|XSI. Other packages can do some dope shit but those are the powerhouses.
I'll try to dig some shit up its been awhile...

I forgot about sofimag. That's what they used for Veggie Tales around the 3rd or 4th video. I don't know if they still use that as my friend doesn't wrok there anymore. But when he did we'd talk programs and such as that's what I was studying back in college.
I read up on blender once and it's regarded as one of the best and it's free. I'll post a link to it later if you're interested.
