You pick em...choose 3. I allowed Roger Rabbit, and I only picked Cartoons that garnered more than one vote. Enjoy...

No love for Roger Rabbit? Not only was it a good mix of live action and animation, but it was the one and only time Bugs Bunny was seen alongside Mickey Mouse!

I saw this in the theater. Seeing the animated series opening on the big screen gave me goose bumps.

Now that I think about it... A Scanner Darkly was good too, but then again, that may be biased because of my love of Di... uh... PKD.

A Scanner Darkly used overcast coloration. Not animated.
Dick has nothing to do with this conversation. Stop trying to bring him up in an attempt to sound cool.

A good deal of things were drawn in (or drawn out). Rotoscoping is considered animation. If we weren't going to count A Scanner Darkly as animated, then what gives stuff like "Roger Rabbit" any more merit? Dick was the one who wrote SD which is why I mentioned him.
If you noticed, I mentioned another Linklater (Sorry to drop a name, I'm sure you'll bitch about it later) film, too.

It's only animated because actual people moved to make it as such. The technique doesn't actually involve producing character movement.
Everyone knows Dick wrote A Scanner Darkly. Now what does that have to do with animation? Did PKD himself propose the film use rotoscope? Considering he's long dead I sincerely doubt it.

He's responsible for the movie. Which is rotoscoped. Which is, by definition, animated. Plus there was a lot of stuff in the movie that was merely "animated in" because it'd be quicker and cheaper. Which brings us back to "why I mentioned it." Would you be less of an arrogant cunt if I'd said "But I like the writer and I've read the book many times?"
Don't answer that. Really. I don't even know why I'm arguing with you, Pariah. It's like trying to put a porcupine up my ass without getting jabbed.

He's responsible for the movie? Was it his dying wish? If so, did he specifically request rotoscope?
Honest question. Please enlighten me.
And exactly how much, percentage-wise, was the movie actually drawn? And how do you expect to compare that to the movies listed that used actual animation throughout the films?

Rotoscoping is actually drawing over a picture and giving it more animated features. So, technically, a rotoscoped movie is 100% animated. If not, then you can't count any of Ralph Bakshi's films, including his The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

Rotoscoping is actually drawing over a picture and giving it more animated features. So, technically, a rotoscoped movie is 100% animated. My point is that rotoscoping just depends more on actor movement than it does actual animation. How much sense does it make to compare the animation workload of Ghost in the Shell to A Scanner Darkly? If not, then you can't count any of Ralph Bakshi's films, including his The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. In the case of the Lord of the Rings, I don't. However.....The Hobbit was rotoscoped? Is there another version I'm unaware of or did they just add in a whole lot more exterior animation than usual?

I'm still not 100% sure about A Scanner Darkly, though, as it used digital rotoscoping. As this seems more like a 'photoshop effect' than actually animating using pencil and ink or actually creating a digital image through coding, I'm not too into calling it a true animation process.

You're right, it was Disney and not Bakshi. I was just remembering that it was him, but I have had several beers tonight.
