I don't know if there has been a thread on this subject, but I was just watching an old episodes of MST3K and let me just say that this was one of the greatest shows ever made!

It was a great show. I enjoyed it.
My faves were the really bad sci fi flicks of the 50's.
I like getting together with friends where we make fun of bad movies or tv shows we are watching and we are bitchy about it.. We make our own version of MST3K.

I hear ya. Me and my buddies did that to. I'm sure its one of the reasons why I like the show so much.

Remember the episodes where they made fun of Killer Shrews, Teenager from Outer Space, Teenage Caveman, and I was a Teenage Werewolf? Those were good.

Does anyone remember a particularly bad movie with a guy in a bear suit, with a fish bowl on his head?
I cannot recall the name of that movie..
But that was a really funny episode.

I enjoyed Eegah (to paraphrase the MST writers, it's like they made a musical of Manos), Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, The Wild Wild Wild World of Batwoman, and The Atomic Brain (the one where the old lady is trying to have her brain transplanted). I also enjoyed most of the ones mentioned thus far.

My favorites from back in the day include Pod People, Eegah!, The Wild Wild World of Batwoman, and Red Zone Cuba.

Has there been a glitch in the Matrix? Snarf felt the need to tell us how much he enjoyed "Eegah" in the same thread, approximately 18 months apart.

My fave MST3K stuff was the old 40s/50s serials that they would watch during the Joel days (i.e. Commando Cody vs the Moon Men). The PSAs from the 50s and 60s were pretty good too, though. One question, did they ever do an episode viewing the Southern "classic" Night of the Lepus?

I wish they could/would do some of the bigger franchises, i.e. original Trek episodes, classic Doctor Who episodes, etc...

I don't think they ever did.... Too bad. I guess even they have standards when it came to really shitty movies about killer mutant rabbits.

Joel has a similar site called Cinematic Titanic, where they do basically the exact same thing, but they have to buy the rights to a film.

Speaking of Joel, who was everyone's favorite host? While I liked Mike and know that he was a writer for the show during the Joel years, I was always more fond of Joel's work as host.

I liked both Joel and Mike. They had different strengths. However, I got into the show during the Joel years, so he's the guy I identify as being THE MST guy.
