I really enjoyed it!

I've made mention on many a wrestling thread how I liked the concept of the round-robin tournament of Starrcade 89!

And I think it would be superb with the right 3 wrestlers but the problem is - would others pay to see this? I have my doubts.

TNA did a cool thing by having their qhole show devoted to a regular tournament and it was really booked well! Devoting an entire Smackdown or Raw do a RR tourney would be cool!

They seem to be learning some stuff along the way - Lashleys women does his talking for him and he's getting better in the ring!

There were some great matches on the show - Desmond Wolf is coming along well.

This is the greatest "TNA Thanksgiving Impact" thread ever!

I debated watching it, but decided against it. what happened?

I don't recall the backstory but 8 wrestlers from different divisions(Heavyweight, X & tag team) were assembled into this tournament, the winner getting shot at their division respective titles.

The Brackets were:


Bobby Lashley Vs Abyss

Desmond Wolf Vs Suicide

Kury Vs Dinero

Robert Roode Vs Homicide


I thought the match ups were interesting and looking at the list, I found it hard to determine who would be the winner, narrowing it down to 3 Lashley, Kury and Wolfe.

All first round matches were solid with proper finishes, Roode and Homicides was probably the best match-up, followed by Kurys, which I found a little lacking because of Kurys forced face turn!

Incidentally, in a segment, Foley was running around, all pissed about the arrival of Hogan! Apparently, Nobody had consulted him about that orange bastards arrival! Foley asked Kury about hogan and Kury cut a real dick suck promo about how great it will be to have that old fuck in tna!

The semi finals were:

Lashley Vs Wolfe

Kury Vs Roode

I found the Lashley/Wolf match up interesting as they are both new to tna, how would they book this to not make either look weak! It was a great match, going mostly Lashleys way until Wolfe caught him in an armbar and wouldn't break the hold even though Lashley was in the ropes - I knw it sounds gay but it was quite good.

Kury had another great match but got counted out because Wolfe distracted him.

Needless to say who won the final but overall it was the best impact I have seen in a long while!

ahh, they did this last year, too, but it wasn't that good. this year's sounds like it was better. Nigel/Wolfe is damn good. he impressed the hell out of me as ROH Champion.

Fuck TNA. Pile of shit that wastes talent even worse than WWE.
I'd rather watch the very worst WWE angle ever than watch that turd of a promotion.

The ROH matches I saw, he was very good!

ROH and him in particular work very stiff - calm down, Rob and snarf.

I sort of didn't know what to expect when they renamed him Desmond! I would mind if that was his real name but it's not and it's gay!

Whoever came up with that name said that it was a popular name over here - Desmond is popular over here, in the black community!

I read somewhere that it was Russo. that he googled for popular british names and that's what came up. I dunno. it's terrible, though. shame as Nigel's great.
