There are times when you're flipping through the channels and come across a movie that you have to put the remote down for no matter how many times or how recently you've watched it. Animal House, Caddyshack, and Lebowski can't be watched on TV for me. The crudeness and cursing are a big part of them that just can't be taken away. Smokey and the Bandit is the same way.

Smokey and the Bandit, yes. Especially given that whomever they got to overdub Buford's curse words sounded more like Fred Flintstone. It doesn't bother me in AH or CS, probably because the first time I saw those films was on network TV.

Its not generally a problem here anymore as satellite/cable tv has a different watershed time to terrestrial tv, so they tend now to put uncensored films on at an uncensored time.

Its not generally a problem here anymore as satellite/cable tv has a different watershed time to terrestrial tv, so they tend now to put uncensored films on at an uncensored time. Cable companies are getting more conservative with their editing of language over here. FX and A&E all allow some of the 'banned words' like shit. FX even allows the use of cock and cunt every once in a while. Comedy Central is the only one that's gone full force and allowed fuck and nudity.
