Anybody hip to The Goon yet?

Good stuff...I just picked it up on a whim today and was blown away by it....

Written and illustrated by Eric Powell and published by Tennessee based Albatross Exploding Funny Books, the only way I can descibe the mag is a Bowery Boys flick meets up with Night of the Living Dead, with elements of EC horror and alot of tongue-in-cheek black humor.

Powell's pencils are incredible. I can't believe I've never seen his work before..possibly because he's new to the scene? A great mix of Wally Wood and Berni Wrightston.

Goon info

Definately a good book, be sure to check it out....

Ya beat me to it.

The Goon is a great book, lots of black humor, Bowery Boys meets NOTLD is exactly how I think of the book.

It was previously published as a three issue mini by Avatar and had a short run in DHP, I think.

The mini is supposed to be released as a trade, and there is an upcoming Goon x-mas special.
