I'm thinking of getting it, but.....Dunno.

I just bought all 10 issues cuz my local comic shop sold me the whole set for 50% off. I ended up getting it for $21 (instead of the $27 it woulda cost me if I bought it right off the shelf). Its okay, I guess. Its basically about normal people who get ahold of the HERO device from the old "Dial H for Hero" comic. everytime they spell out H-E-R-O they gain a different ability. If you decide to start from the beginning, the first 4 issues are one story.

Are they good enough to buy FULL price?

It's a great comic.

It's one of the better new books DC has put out lately, which usually means it'll be cancelled shortly. I like that it's pretty much just a "what if" about normal folks suddenly getting superpowers. The stories range in tone and theme, but quality has been very consistent. The art, I like it, but I realize that not everyone will. The covers are amazing. It's been very solid and entertaining so far.

One caveat, it's a concept that could get old really fast without an overall arc. I can only hope that some sort of overall framing story begins to appear.

I agree with Mr Nobody. It's a great series, but I fear it's showing signs of fizzleing.

I read the first arc and thought it was an interesting concept, but poorly executed. I didn't find main character's reason for wanting to kill himself very believable, and I thought the writer took 4 issues to tell a story that could have been told in 1 or 2. It made the supposed "cliffhangers" seem like stalling.

The art was better than I expected(though not right for the book's style and pace, in my opinion).

I liked the first 2 issues I lost interest after that.... probably for the sames reasons as animalman (uncapitalized).
