Well, I'm VERY happy to be able to announce that I'm going to be BACK as the regular penciler on FANTASTIC FOUR as of issue #509-- working with my buddy Mark Waid. That's right, we're back as the creative team of the World's Greatest Comic Magazine. Well, Mark will have never really have left in the first place, but you get my drift.
I'm not going to speculate on the reasons why things have turned out the way they have. It's been a very strange (almost) four months since the whole "Mark Waid firing" incident-- but all I CAN say is that I'm very glad that things have turned out the way they have. I'm back working on one of the greatest books I've every worked on, with one of the greatest writers in comics. And working for Tom Brevoort-- one of the finest, best editors in this business. So, at the end of the day, things are back to being the way they were-- only better. And that's just fine with me.
I'm ready to get back to work!

The important thing is that Mike is back b/c Waid is back. That is a great book. My buddy dropped it b/c when Waid was fired, Mike quit, refusing to draw the reat of Waid's story.
Mike is a great artist. I am glad to see his bold move worked.

I was getting kind of sad when I was reading the latest FF Issue... thinking about how there would only be about 4 more issues before I had to quit reading the title.
But, if this is true, all will have worked out, and Fantastic Four wouldn't have to be cancelled within a year due to lack of sales!

Sadly, FF's started to go downhill for me. I don't get why Reed's face being scarred is such a big deal. Can't he just stretch it back into place? I've read issues where he's changed his face and hair altogether.

Nerve Damage.
No control over that part of his face.
Think of him as a stroke victim, or Good Ol' JR and his Bell's Palsy. That part of his face does not work, so therefore, he cannot move it.
Simple as that.

They're gonna give the "new" creative team their own Marvel Knights FF book, so, with Ultimate FF, there's gonna three FF books out there...
