I'm as equally qualified to make the assertion that the scene depicted a doggy style fuck as anyone else is to claim that it was an anal sex scene.
Further, I feel secure in making my assertion about that scene based on this--this man and woman have been isolated together for some time raising baby Mark. Why are we to believe that this act...which I am to believe was their only moment of any kind of sexual intercourse based on all the on-camera cues...was an act of sodomy rather than an act penis-in-vagina sex?
Let's take a show of hands out there, shall we? OK, all you women...you haven't had sexual intercourse in presumably upwards of months or even a year or so...so which kind of intercourse do you want? Vaginal? Anal? As a man married for over 15 years, I feel safe in saying that MOST women are going to prefer vaginal to anal sex.

Well since I love playing the devils advocate, I offer a counter point to you Jim.
Perhaps it was anal sex. I say this because there is no way the couple had access to condoms or birth control. They were strictly ordered not to have sex. So perhaps they went the anal route to guarantee that Mark's "mother" didn't get pregnant thus keeping their little quickie a secret.

They also have no access to any lubrication to the make the deed easier. It's not easy you know.
And it's possible that she was aware of her time of the month and felt it safe. And it's possible that they did it and said to hell with the consequences and who knows if she ends pregnant later.
I just don't buy the anal sex thing. It's not going to be a woman's first choice.
