NOW Comics, which is defunct, published two volumes of The Green Hornet between 1989-1994.

I know I can't be the only one out there who's read them, but I never got a chance to complete volume 2.

And a lot of important stuff happens at the end of vol. 2, namely a new Kato (Kato IV) (not the sister, Mishi, but Kono), and a new Black Beauty (Black Beauty IV -- not the one from the first 12 issues of vol. 1, the slick green and black one).

If anyone has read this run and remembers what happened, or actually has the comics on hand, please respond!!

Thanks,

Yeah..as a long-time Hornet fan, I loved it. Especially the first 10 or so issues of the first run. I still have a complete set of volume 1, and the first 4 or 5 issues of volume two.

It's been years since I've read those issues, but the early ones were great.

Around the time V.2 came out, it lost its luster. I think the owners of the franchise were starting to exert too much control. They forced NOW to drop the female Kato (Mishi?), who, as I recall, later returned as a villain -- a move I thoroughly detested.

The same kind of franchise tampering occurred with DC's Star Trek series around the same time. Paramount may have known how to protect their characters, but they didn't know squat about telling good comic stories featuring them. [no no no]
