i think its purdy easy to notice that, with nearly 200 new registrations in the past few days, there's a lotta newbies moving here from the dying original DCMBs.

my question to you is... how can i help ya move in? are there any features you'd like to see added? any things i could move around? did you save any threads from the original DCMBs that you'd like me to upload to my server so you can reference whenever?
lemme know how's i can make yer stay and the beatiful and spacious RKMBs better!

1) thread nominations: they're fine -- but saving the topics is up to you (as well as packaging them, and getting them to me). once i get them, ill see what i can do on my end, but you have to do the leg work.
2) sub-categories: a possibility. quite a few of you have asked. as it is, there's not an overwhelming need to create 6 or 7 different comic book forums (one for superman, one for legion, one for lucifer, etc), so i'd kinda like to avoid doing that. ... for now. however, if the demand (and threads) increase, id definitely be willing to do that. i have no problem with adding however many forums are requested, as long as there is a point in adding them (y'know?)
3) moderators: in the meantime (referring to point 2, above), i can give each separate lil grouping of you a moderator of your own chosing. if y'all elect someone, ill give that person mod status, which will then enable a few extra features, including the ability to "headline" a topic.

if you've saved all the necessary html pages of a thread, probably the easiest thing to do would be to group them together using a program called WINZIP, and send me that file. if yer clueless on how to use winzip, try just attaching all the necessary files (html ONLY) to a single email, addressed to me

I've just placed all pages that I've saved from the DCMBs in one directory and it looks like I have (roughly) 318 megabytes and (about) 8,119 pages saved. I've been saving threads since July of last year.
I spent most of my time in the DCU sections of the MB (like GL, Cap Marvel, JLA, ODCUT, etc, etc...) but I do have a scattering of Vertigo & Wildstorm threads (notably LoEG & Fables, which I have lots).
Because the ODCUT forum was the most active, I'd say that the majority of my saved stuff is from there.

He really crossed the line on some of them, and he made the JLA board pretty unpleasant to go to. I stopped going there because of him (which pissed me off, becuase I liked going there).
But every board needs its bad boy, I guess.

Eh... I got the last laugh. Because of me, the place was made into an unbearable fascistic state where rules were obeyed... OR ELSE!, Memberships had to be approved by 20 people, backstage politics between the chosen few affected everyone, yet no one knew about them, and Victor Creed got his own forum so everything appeared politically correct. Of course, the Nature Boyz (who don't exist) just kept pushing until, well... powder keg, man. Powder Keg.
Also, I learned one important lesson out of it all. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely... unless you're Rob Kamphausen, of course.

Huh. I never knew about any of that. Dumas always seemed like a cool, level-headed guy to me. This must have been after I was run off the Superman boards, because I don't remember any of that happening.
Still, I can sympathize with your holding a grudge for long periods of time. I've got plenty of my own against some of the MBers at the DC site, myself. Hence my "I hope the resident jerks stay away from here" comment.
