Seriously, I own all but about 20 of the Action/Adventure runs all the way through the current title and haven't read half of them. Especially Legionnaires and the 5 Year Gap stories. I'd much rather re-read The Great Darkness or the Sun-Eater (original) story.

And I find myself reading the Archives rather than the original issues because its more convenient and it keeps already deteriorating collection from getting worse. Hell, I'll even take one of the Adventure Digests to work once in awhile to have something to read during a break.

Well, she better read the Dr. Mayavale ish I'm sending her, no matter HOW bad it is!!

And comb those back-issue bins! Unfortunately, I just today mailed out my spare copy to TD, sorry...

Comics are meant to be read, dammit!

Buying a Legion comic and not reading it is like hanging a painting on the wall just to impress the neighbors with how cultural you are.

Buying a comic and not reading it makes you look like a crummy speculator.

Buying a comic and not reading it is tantamount to having the TV on for background noise. It may make you feel good, but it's disrespectful toward the actors and writers and producers who worked so hard to entertain you.

Buying a comic and not reading it is the same as saying the comics aren't worth reading. They're just collectable. Postage stamps, anyone?

Now, excuse me. I've got to go file away some CDs I've never listened to.

If it's the TMK era, it's a positive boon for your mental health! ... ahh, criminy, you might as well sell 'em on eBay. SOME like 'em from that era and will buy 'em. Though I've heard reasons for why they do, I've never grokked 'em, to borrow a word coined by Heinlein.

To not be as facetious as our friend HWW, I really do only own what I'll re-read every so often. That means two short boxes, period, with a few duplicates and tabloids spilling into a third. And all but a half-dozen originally costly (that's over $10) items are not even in a bag-and-board.

Define "read". Really read every word and look at every panel or just turn the pages?

A few comics have just been page flippers for me - but there are some folks who say they still haven't read back series (such as Legion Lost) even though they bought it at the time it was issued. Serious backlog or lack of interest?

Now, I don't think it's a question of wrong or right - unless it's going to be one of our constitutional laws. Does this board have a constitution? It could have a lot of silly rules just like the Legion's constitution... and we could ignore it just like our own constitution (Canada's or U.S.).

I own 7 Legion comics....and have only read 1.

Owning a Legion comic and not reading it is morally wrong. It says so in the Upanishads.

I won't re read my OLD Adventure issues anymore.
Most of them ( Issues from 341 to 371 ) are falling apart. I have them in an area hanging on display, sealed in bags. I DO re Read my OTHER Legion comics from time to time, these are from 1981 and up.. BTW, I DO like the Middle era TMK era..the stories were good, and so was the art.

I have the Legion archives. They're in great shape, and you can read several stories in a row without having to hunt for issues.

That's my two cents, but with inflation, it's more like $2.50.

Yeah it is. Any story is worth reading, if only for the idea the author is trying to communicate. Whether the writer gets that point across is another... um, story. However, if the story is unpleasant to read, then it's okay to lower it's ranking on the priority list.
