I think Cosmic Boy should have his power changed.

Instead of only being able to affect metal objects of a magnetic nature, he should be able to attract and repel ALL objects except living beings. He should be able to erect a force field.

Since DC is most likely NOT going to give Saturn Girl telekinesis ( Perhaps to avoid her becoming a Jean grey clone? ) this would be a rather good compromise.

And they could Change Leviathon and Vi by bringing back Gim allon, and thus Vi would only have her shrinking abilities.

I don't mind the way most powers are presented. In a large team, it helps to have limits on what characters can do. Cos being able to control metal objects gives him an easily recognizable focus that the ill-defined "any objects except living beings" lacks.

What I would change about the Legion is to resolve or advance some long-standing plotlines, such as the Jo/Tinya feud and the long absent Singularity. I would focus more on new villains than old ones.

I would also admit that five years have passed since the Legion's founding and allow the timeline to progress at an easily understood, albeit slower, rate. For example, forget that the present year has to be 3003. Why not make it 3001, and keep it there for a few years of our time? Who the flip really cares if the stories take place exactly 1000 years from the present?

My top priorities for THE LEGION other than maintaining top-notch story & art would be:

1) To re-establish somehow the sister bond between Nura and Mysa.

2) To use LEGION WORLD to bring back un-rebooted fan-faves (in a REALISTIC fashion and only when the storyline allowed!)

The "teenage superheroes 1000 years in the future" aspect always was public relations, methinks. It was a ready hook when describing the Legion, a nice round number.

Decades after the "Adventure" run began, speculation still went on in the LetterCol-Plus pages about time-shifts. It came to be accepted that the Legion was 1000 years after Kara's time (that is, "ours"), and 1010 years after Kal's time. And that they each traveled this fixed time-distance when visiting the Legion.

Time clearly flows more quickly for this postboot Legion (4 years or so in 9 issue years) than for After the Gap to Zero Hour (14 months in 5 issue years), but far more slowly than Before the Gap (16.5 years in 31 issue years).

What would I change? Create many more character-driven stories. ... Oh, that's starting to happen. And you said "the Legion" (organization), not The Legion (published title).

I'd have Dawnstar and Shikari teaming up as "Celestial Investigations Ltd", on call for the Legion but not members. I'd have Chuck, Dirk, and Tenzil more on stage, but again, not members. I'd leave Garth and Jan meaningfully dead, which I fear they're not going to do.

And I'd leave all villains from our era in the past. Can't SOMEONE other than Jim Shooter come up with genuinely new ones? Anyone? This was even beyond Levitz the writer, unfortunately.

I would like to see Batista draw MORE ASS on the characters.
That and introduce a clown Legionnaire or an alien clown race!

Señor, did you ever see the movie Killer Clowns From Outer Space? It never won an Academy Award, but it was entertaining in it's own way

I'd do more characterization in the Legion.

Jim Shooter DID help make the LSH members
individuals... He accomplished this by using
less members per story, Shooter liked to work with FIVE heroes per story. A good enough writer
can still pull this off with maybe 7 to 10 heroes in one story.

And I agree... let's see some NEW super villians!
Ones that, like the Fatal Five & Universo, are unique to the Legion.

There isn't anything I'd really change about the team or the book, but I'd like to see more instances where the whole team gets together -- either for business / meetings or during downtime. (for something other than a memorial would be nice)

I'd have more done-in-one-or-two issue stories. Cut back on the epics a little bit.

I'd also explore the characters andtheir friendships a bit more. Cham and Lyle, for instance, were great friends during the early reboot, but you don't see that anymore.

I now I go on about this (at least in my own mind), but I would like to see the Coluans develop some artistic geniuses. All we ever get from them is science, science, science - you're a super-intelligent race, and you don't have musicians, writers, painters??

The sci-fi focus makes sense for a futuristic comic, but we could use a little culture, too. Apart from dancing the Shurg.

I'd make Tenzil return but as a detective type aka. celeste rockfish except cool and I would give him a sense of humour again.

I would make T-Wolf and Brainy best friends.

Finally I would put Laurel Kent in the legion because she is rad and had a nifty costume (the hankerchief with superman logo not the generic bikini thing.)

I'd like to see the Fatal Five revamped. IMO, the Persuader should be muscle, not one of the 'official' FIVE. Validus is a tool, also not one of the elite FIVE.

Mano, IMO, would best be used independently from the FIVE. I see him as a 'shade of gray' character that could work with the FIVE, or even with the Legion, or against either at any time.
Tharok, with a renewed sense of purpose and competence *should* maintain a slot.

I'm torn about the Emerald Eye and Sarya. I sort of wish the Eye would take over completely, with Empress as a 'mouthpiece'. (The Empress- the bloodthirsty, knife-wielding one- is, to me, the single worst reboot change). A new partnership is a possibility. Or the Eye as one of the FIVE all on its own.

Who to fill out the FIVE?

Roxxas- a ruthless Daxamite with political talent and aspirations is a fascinating character. I'm really surprised he hasn't been used again.

The next time we see Tangleweb, he should be fully fluent and purposeful. I think he's a villain that should appear again and again- his self-evolution could be fun to watch.

The final spot I'd give to the ruthless Brainiac 4- always with her own agenda(s) at the forefront of her activites.

The FATAL FIVE would gradually acquire indiviual sources of power (armies, spy ring, governments, etc.)

I would've made the reboot resemble Superboy's Legion.
