Yeah I don't find Bane that much of a stretch either. From the books I read I found the character boring, but in a different take by Nolan he may be a good challenge for Batman.
bane is a lame character.
but, at least thus far proven, nolan (both nolans?) has such a great grasp on the batuniverse that he could create a great story and a great character out of any of it.
