alright, so, clearly, he's unpopular here. my father loathes him (though he hates pelosi more). my devil's advocatey question is are there anythings he's done so far that you've liked? any qualities, any plans, any... whatevers?

for example; i'm pro his afghanistan reinforcements n'such. that's the one thing that sticks out so far.

I liked the fact that he was not going to allow a circus hearing on interrogating terrorist, but he flip flopped on that today,

I like the fact that he's paying executives of failed companies millions in bonuses.

His job program has gotten rid of unemployment.
He courageously waited five days to rescue an American citizen from a group of weakly armed pirates.
He respects the disabled.
He's only wasted about 3 billion of taxpayers money.
He hasn't started his secret police......yet.

I'd agree about Afghanistan if he weren't trying to make the move seem like it was his invention.

I agree with him about discouraging religious groups from being active in the public schools.


I agree with him that he has a good looking wife. Even if she is an asshole.

I agreed with him about reigning in the power of the executive branch. Of course, he has since appointed only about twenty czars only answerable to him to look over everything from the American car inudstry, to banking, to the internet.

He got the PM of Britain some fine DVDs!

Oh, and I agree with Obama that John Travolta should be taxed more than me.

Like Iggy, I agreed with a lot of what Obama said, which happened to be the same thing that McCain said in a lot of instances; but he's either not done them or done the exact opposite: such as reducing presidential powers, fighting against Congressional earmarks, and reducing government spending.

No, I just agree with taxing John Travolta.

I do like the fact that he decided not to release the propaganda pictures.

He's not a pansy when it comes to sports. He says which teams he likes and doesn't do the usual politically correct crap.

He wants to take away trade restrictions with Cuba. I think once the citizens get a taste of capitalism it won't be long before they demand it for themselves. I think Cuba is one of the few countries that are close to becoming free by themselves.

So far the only things I've liked by Obama have been things he refused to do initially, but after pressure came around and did the right thing. Such as sending in Navy Seals to kill Somalian pirates, and troops to Afghanistan, and calling off (temporarily, anyway) the witch-hunt to partisanly investigate W. Bush appointees for crimes.
I give him credit for doing them, but note that he only consented to do them under pressure from more responsible people.

I still think Obama is a lying sack of shit, who has done the opposite of what he campaigned on in virtually every instance, and in the most important aspect, will destroy this country's economy and currency with his actions.

And destroy our military defense capability as well, in an effort (Clinton-like) to slash defense so he can spend even more on liberal domestic programs.

M hope is that he changed his mind on these things based on the facts. Liberalism and socialism work in the vaccum of theory but in practice they are destructive. I hope that in all these situations when presented with the facts he realized they were the right course.

I agree with Obama about not trying the interrogators who used EITs that are considered by many as torture. By doing so, he has begun to place very interesting legal hurdles between Whomod and his fix of Cheney's blood.

I agree with Obama on most left progressive ideas, I disagree on most right conservative ideas. However I realise this is as far left as the USA can go at the moment so I'm satisfied.

To display my overall contentness on this subject, I can't remember smiling because of US policies in ages.
