It's a cliche. 1) Coon is a racially charged word. 2) The Coon talked tough about cleaning up "the city" but ultimately sides with the "villains" and succeeds in doing precisely nothing. There's your politics, I suppose. I just like the episode for taking the piss to the superhero flicks.

Don't get me wrong. I love the way they pissed on the superhero movie concept, but I do think there was a subtle argument about Obama to the episode. Joe, you kind of hit the nail on the head in that The Coon siding with the villains, I think, was a nod to the far left's disillusionment over Obama backing off from many campaign promises and--in some cases--even going so far as continuing many W era things. Throughout this past season, I believe, they took many shots at Obama. Whether it be the overt (The Oceans 11 episode) or more covert references(The Coon, IMO), the jabs at Obama have been thematic. Of course, I was really high when I watched the coon episode so the THC may have just been making me see it that way.
