Grosse Pointe Blank(A philosopher-hitman, Minnie Driver with a flawless American accent, Jeremy Piven and Dan Aykroyd. What more could you want in a movie? "Bing-Bing-Bang-Bang-POPCORN!") 
Equilibrium(Christian Bale, Taye Diggs, Sean Bean, Sean Pertwee, and a martial arts that uses pistols like swords. That's right. Read that last bit back to yourself. Doesn't that just chub your nuts with awesome? See it.)  
Red Dawn(Some might call this the height of 1980's US Cold War propaganda, and they might have a point. But, if I scream " WOLVERINES!!" and you don't get it, then brother you have never gotten this film. Or you haven't seen it, which is just too horrible to contemplate. Please, please do yourself and society a favor and go get this. Right. Fucking. Now. Go. GO!) 
Hot Fuzz(Sure, I know Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are better known for their Shaun of the Dead, and Pegg himself for the UK's Spaced series. But this British parody/spoof/homage of American Hollywood buddy-cop films is sublime. Nick Frost deserves an Oscar. He steals every scene.) 
The Fisher King(Robin Williams might have been the big star for this one, but Jeff Bridges absolutely steals it. His joint-smoking, ego-stroking dance number while trying to decide his catchphrase-- "Excuuuuuse meeee! Excuse ME! Ex-CUUUUSE me! Hey......HEY!!........excuse me!"--is proof he was robbed at the Oscars.) 
Unbreakable(The only film M. Night Shyamalan got right. Bruce Willis at the height of his "silent acting" era. And, of course, Sam Jackson being awesome.)

Night of the Comet  Comet passes near earth and almost everyone dehydrates to dust or turns into zombies. It's a comedy. Lathe of Heaven  Saw this on PBS way back when and then it never aired again because they used a Beatles song in it. It did eventually get released in dvd a couple of years back. It's about a guy who changes reallity with his dreams. I bet many here have read the book. Sleepaway Camp 3  Girl keeps coming back to this camp and killing any "bad" people. Lexx  About a big organic bug spaceship that can blow up planets manned by a crew of misfits that take on a whole universe. The Adventures of Baron Munchausen  One of my favorites. I don't usually rewatch movies beyond some Christmas ones but this one is one of the few exceptions.

Ahh, I miss Lexx. Let's see.  The only TV show in the past two years I've watched regularly.  A great but overlooked horror/thriller flick. Great for loaning to the friends who think they've seen every screwy movie out there.  On the subject of screwy movies, my favorite "horror" movie from the past ten years.  And one of my favorite horror flicks. Period.  Believe it or not. I absolutely love this movie.

Dude, Night of the Comet!! I totally remember the sex scene in the theater in that one! What a flashback. Awesome.  And PCG, what's hard to believe about loving Almost Famous? Cameron Crowe's life-story is both fucking hilarious but totally relatable. Not to mention, I love his passion over music. The cast is flawless, there's not a weak-link in the story. I fell in love with Kate Hudson AND Billy Crudup with this movie.  The kid actor, Patrick Fugit, "The Enemy" is superb for his first real movie role ever. And let's all be honest here...who wouldn't want their first sexual experience to be a three-way between Fairuza Balk, Anna Paquin, and some other hot chick? Plus, Jason Lee.... "Oh that's okay...drive away...it's easy to forget about me...I'm just the FUCKING LEAD SINGER!!"  Finally, on the serious acting bit, this movie has both Frances McDormand AND Philip Seymour Hoffman. What more could you possibly fucking want out of a movie?

A vastly overrated horror movie. While it's a pretty intense flick, the big "twist" renders the first three-quarters (tee hee!) of the film nonsensical and moot. Go see L'Interieur ("Inside") and then talk to me. And, if you're looking for "screwy" horror movies, let me know. I'll offer some recommendations that I guarantee will make your friends watch with their jaws hanging, thinking "WTF???" Not bad. Not great, but not bad. John Carpenter's The Thing The film that made me a horror fan. Virtually flawless from start to finish. If you haven't already, check out the rest of Carpenter's "Apocalypse Trilogy:" Prince Of Darkness and In The Mouth Of Madness.
