We got to see Henning after a Nitro in Biloxi. We'd wound up at the same casino that the wrestlers were staying at after the show. He was just sitting at the bar drinking and looking like a sad sack. This was after he'd been taken off of TV and he didn't look to happy about that. He snubbed a friend who tried to shake his hand and told him how big a fan he was. It was pretty depressing to see, actually.
That is so sad.
He could still go.
As Hennigs wife said, he didn't expect to hold the World Title and didn't mind elevating others over but he was pretty over when he returned to the WWE - Would it have been so hard to keep in the upper mid card?
