Probably the funniest damn thing Murphy's ever done. 26 years later, and its still as funny as ever. Yeah some of the material is dated (stuff like the naivity over AIDS), but the humour itself is still fucking hilarious, and even funnier as its before all the PC bullshit got its claws into comedians. Raw isnt quite as funny, but I see it more as an extension of Delirious rather than a sequel or whatever. It certainly has moments that are equal to Delirious though.

My brother had a bootleg of the album Comedian, which was pulled from this film. We'd listen to that shit constantly. When I started working in high school, a lot of the managers were my brother's friends who also listened to it over and over. We'd walk around the store quoting it to each other out of the blue, totally confusing everyone else who worked there. It got to the point that all we had to do was whistle the Old Spice tune to crack each other up.

The two comedy albums they made out of Delirious were among the first ones I ever bought for myself. My friends, brother, and I memorized those bits. They saved me many times from getting yelled at by my mom (it's hard to reprimand your kid for not cleaning his room when your laughing at his rendition of "The Barbecue" and "Shoe-Throwing Mothers"). That stand-up is among my favorites of all time.
This past Halloween, my wife and I had a couple friends over to watch Amityville Horror and Poltergeist, as my wife had never seen them before. Halfway through Amityville, I was doing Murphy's bit about "why don't white people leave the house?" As my wife had never seen Delirious, we watched that in between the two horror films. Needless to say, we were all cracking up at the concert (no real surprise that it still holds up). Now my wife quotes Delirious almost as much as I still do.

Bout 14 or 15 years ago, a bunch of us at work used to watch the VHS all the time, and I dont think a day went by where someone didnt quote something from this.
As doc says, anyone who hadnt seen it used to wonder what the fuck we were all going on about.
Of course, any of them that had the same sorta humour as us would then go and buy/hire/borrow it and then join in with all the quoting.
