Today it's been Giles, Giles, & Fripp's _The Brondesbury Tapes_, some 1968 recordings by the band that would become King Crimson.

Tracks from the KEITH PROWSE MUSIC Library-- stock music recorded on the cheap for use by even cheaper film & TV producers to have SOMETHING to put on their soundtracks. Among the KPM artists: Bill Martin & Phil Coulter, David Lindup, Johnny Pearson, Alan Hawkshaw, Keith Mansfield and Syd Dale-- all masters of modern big band jazz! And in case anyone's wondering, all this stuff I'm playing was used on the 1968 Ralph Bakshi-Gray Morrow / Krantz Films version of SPIDER-MAN!

THE BIG BANDS OF THE THIRTIES, a 1970 album by Enoch Light & The Light Brigade. Enoch Light had been a big band leader from the 1930's-up, later a record label owner AND a pioneering recording engineer who specialized in S T E R E O before it became common. In 1970 he put together a new "big band" with members from the most famous bands of the 30s & 40s, re-recording all their best hits with 30 years + experience behind them and state-of-the-art recording technology. Some have looked at me funny when I say HIS version of "In The Mood" totally blows away Glenn Miller's-- but it just DOES!

That MOJO CD is great. She (Track 12) is awesome. There's a massive Doors influence on that track - it sounds just like Ray Manzarek playing keyboards (even though it isn't).
I hope the rest of their album sounds like that.

Listening to Graves: Web of Dharma. A really good, short-lived band from former Misfits (Generation 2) singer Michale Graves. They existed barely a year, and luckily I got to see them at one of their few live performances. Great stuff.
