Without Rep.Bart Stupak and his little group of pro-life Democrats, it wouldn't have passed the House.
I don't see that Stupak got anything as a concession from the Dems, in the way of preventing state-funded abortion Stupak postures about opposing. He agreed to vote yes for the bill, on the promise that language would be included preventing state-funded abortion, which likely won't be amended in.
It was just a front that allowed him and his group to vote for Obamacare while feigning opposition and reluctance.
