Great flick.Jason Scott Lee was so much like Bruce Lee it was scary.

Been watching a few bits n pieces over the last week.

I rewatched Predator in the last two weeks.

It is still a great film.

I don't think the ending is anywhere near as fucked up as people say it is.

See I really liked it up until the end, and then it kinda seemed a bit cut short.
We didnt really see the end for Brolin.
McDonald may or may not have been killed.
And what was the point of the crash with Bardam?

I'm pretty damn sure she was killed.

Plus, when Bardam leaves he checks his boots. Which I'm guessing was for blood.

The car accident did seem kind of pointless. It probably had something to do with the scene earlier when Brolin buys that coat and beer from the guys on the bridge.

The dudes on the bridge try to get more money out of Brolin, but the kids freely offer their help to Bardam.

Still it was unnecessary.

It just annoyed me that so much of the key stuff ended up as off camera.
Brolin went through hell and back, and ends up with an almost throw away ending.

With McDonald, I just hated the ambiguity of it. Yeah, it seemed like he killed her, but you never know for sure.

I dont really see what the car crash would have to do with the coat and beer.

I also wasnt overly impressed with the way it played out with Tommy Lee Jones either.

The film was going great guns, setting up for what seemed like a big finale, and just seemed to end with little or no pay off.

While it was great to not have a cliched 'good guy' style ending, I do think it could have been a lot more clear, rather than the damp squib ending that we got.

I think the ending was supposed to show how pointless the whole struggle was. In the end, neither man got what he wanted and a shitload of death was left in their wake. They were both left running, trying to keep from getting caught.

Only Bardam was left running. Brolin got killed!

Killed while running. And not even killed by Bardam.

Yes, but not left running.
And as for Bardams character, he was a killer so it was just his status quo, not pointless for him as thats exactly how he lives his life.
To him everything is pretty much black and white, you live or die, and he just sees himself as being part of the process.

Brolin was a family man (or sorts) who saw the money as a get rich quick scheme, and got involved in something he was not used to.
He was taking a risk and it didnt pay off.
His death was actually not pointless as it was all part of a gamble for him, what was pointless was that after concentrating the film on him, his death was then treated as less important somehow than Harrelsons on the guy from Dodgeball.

Llewelyn says to the lady before it happens that he's "looking for what's coming"

I guess not showing it is the Cohen Bros artsy fartsy way of saying you never "see what's coming".

It was also shown from Sheriff Bell's perspective and it is the death nail in his mission for redemption.

I think that ending is a very good commercial strategy: whenever the film is on I watch it again to see if I catch something new. Meanwhile, I just saw Iron Man for the second time recently and it's very good, but I'm done with the movie.

Good movie...good plot twists too.

You are the first person I have ever heard say anything positive about that film, which is why I havent bothered rushing to see it.

Yeah?Huh...I found it entertaining and decent enough.I thought "The DaVinci Code" was better but overall I could watch it again at some point.It's on Netflix's "Watch Instantly" if you wanna check it out without getting it.

i just instaflixed angels and demons. didn't care for it. i really liked the first film, this one just seemed a bit tame, if not forced, in comparison.

I started watching all the Bond films again a few days ago.
Currently just settling in to watch You only live twice.

I loved it! I didn't see it at the cinema because I thought "I've seen Payback, I'm not gonna pay to see it again", but it's actually a very different sort of movie, and in my opion a much better one. That poster is shit by the way.

I liked Taken too.

I think it was some of the same people involved.

See, I watched Taken recently and that was another reason I didn't go see this at the cinema. I mean, it was good, but I didn't feel like sitting through the same type of story again.

The truth is, they aren't even close. This is based on an old BBC serial and it's very offbeat.

Been Netflixing like mad lately. Love the streaming. I've watched hours of it the past week.










The last three are from a production company called The Asylum. Good, old school B-movies with cheap CGI, weak acting, and crazy scripts. Their plan seems to be to copy whatever a major studio is doing by finding public domain works that are either the same or mirror the big films. The Sherlock Holmes one is probably their best.

Fuck the Asylum. Why they haven't been sued out of business is beyond me.
